At Mentor Leaders Produce Mentor Leaders (MLPML), we believe that every young person has the power to lead, inspire others, and create lasting change in their community. Our journey began with a simple mission: to provide consistent, meaningful mentorship that supports youth in growing academically, emotionally, and personally.
Founded with a vision to uplift youth through leadership, literacy, and life skills, MLPML has evolved into a dynamic mentorship organization serving youth ages 10–24. We go beyond traditional programming—offering structured mentorship experiences, peer-led sessions, and short-term intensives like our 6-week Developing Future Leaders curriculum. Our approach combines hands-on learning, real-life application, and trusted relationships to help young people unlock their full potential and become mentors themselves.
MLPML is a nonprofit that uses academia, professional development, and life skills training to teach young adults ages 10-24 how to become mentorship leaders. We offer long term mentorship programs that operates year round and short term mentorship programs that are operated quarterly depending on the child/parent wants and needs.
To create a global network of mentor leaders who inspire others through empathy, integrity, and resilience. We envision a world where everyone has the tools and guidance to navigate challenges, lead with purpose, and drive positive change.

The story of Mentor Leaders Produce Mentor Leaders (MLPML) began with a mission to empower youth through consistent mentorship, leadership development, and emotional growth. What started as a small, community-based effort in West Philadelphia has grown into a dynamic nonprofit organization serving young people ages 10–24 through structured, transformative programs..
Founded by Vincent Garrett, an educator and mentor with nearly two decades of experience, MLPML was created to fill a critical gap—providing mentorship that supports youth academically, emotionally, and socially. In the early years, the program operated solely on passion and personal funding. Over time, it expanded into schools, community spaces, and citywide partnerships.
Today, MLPML offers both year-round and short-term mentorship programs rooted in literacy, leadership, and life skills. From peer–led sessions to our 6-week leadership curriculum, our work continues to be guided by one goal: to develop confident, capable young leaders who are prepared to mentor the next generation.
